Hosted by HyoJeong Academy of Arts & Sciences and UPF Europe The 2019 International Symposium in Berlin was held on June 22, 2019 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel. The symposium was hosted by the HyoJeong Academy of Arts and Sciences and UPF Europe and sponsored by PWPA International, the Unification Thought Institute and the Cheon Il Guk Academy.
There were about one hundred fifty attendees from all over Europe and thirty attendees from Korea.
The HyoJeong Academy of Arts & Sciences of Europe held its inauguration and symposium in Paris, France from October 26-28, 2018. The event was supported by the HyoJeong Academic Foundation, PWPA and the Unification Thought Institute. The overall theme of the event was the “Vision for the Unity of Sciences and a HyoJeong World of Peace.” The event was held at Maison des Polytechniciens, an 18th century restored mansion, and Espace Barrault in the beautiful city of Paris, France. One hundred thirteen scholars from around the world attended, including twenty from Korea, five from Japan, three from the United States, fifty six from France and sixteen from the rest of Europe. Among these scholars, sixty three were first generation Unificationists, nineteen were second generation Unificationists, and nineteen were non-Unificationist scholars.

Search of Original Laws.” Then Dr. Jaewan Joo, Professor in the Department of Theology and Pure Love Studies at Sun Moon University, gave a talk on “Developing Unification Epistemology by Incorporating Spiritual Senses.” Part 1 concluded with a talk by Dr. Geo Lyong Lee, Professor in the Department of Integrative Medicine at Sun Moon University, on “The Original Image in Unification Thought from the Perspective of Indian Philosophy.”
Part 2 was moderated by Dr. Hangje Kim and Dr. Jin Choon Kim, Co-Chairpersons of the Cheon Il Guk Academy and featured papers presented by 2nd generation Unificationists from Korea. First, Dr. Jinsu Hwang, Professor at SunHak UP Graduate University presented a paper entitled “A Study on the National Policy of Cheon Il Guk: Based on the Concept of Mutual Existence, Mutual Prosperity, and Mutual Righteousness.” Next Dr. Hyun Jin Lim, Professor at SunHak UP Graduate University, presented a paper about the “Study on the Mutual Prosperity Politics in Korea based on the Principle of Mutual Existence, Mutual Prosperity and Mutual Righteousness.” This was followed by Dr. Hwa Myung Kang, Professor or Liberal Arts at Sun Moon University, presenting her paper on “A Study on the Creation of Shared Values from the Perspective of Unification Thought.” Finally, Dr. Youn Hee An, Professor in the Department of History and Culture Contents at Sun Moon University gave a presentation entitled “A Note on the ‘Being with Position’ of Unification Thought: Implications for the Concept of Person.” Once again, each presentation was followed by a stimulating question and answer session.
The program concluded with a report on the HyoJeong Academy Symposium in Paris to the French congregation of FFWPU. These reports and expressions of gratitude for the warm hospitality that was extended to all participants by our French hosts were made by Mr. Jean Francois Moulinet, Chairman of UPF France, Dr. Michael Balcomb, Chairman of FFWPU- Europe and the Middle East, Dr. Katsumi Otsuka, Chairman of the HyoJeong Academy of Arts & Sciences, Europe and of UPF, Europe, and Dr. Sung Bae Jin, Chairman of HyoJeong Academy of Arts and Sciences International. In addition, all the participants expressed their deep appreciation to God, True Mother, Dr. Jin, the other organizers of the symposium and our French hosts for the symposium that provided much food for thought.
A booklet containing all of the papers presented at the symposium can be obtained from the HyoJeong Academy of Arts & Sciences in Korea. As indicated by the wide range of subject matters and areas of expertise of the presenting scholars, the symposium provided all participants with much intellectual stimulation. The next symposium is tentatively scheduled to be held in Europe in July 2019 and we look forward to another thought-provoking symposium with numerous distinguished scholars attending from around the world.
The commencement ceremony of the 1st "Hyo Jeong Academy: Unification Thought Leadership training course" in fall, 2017
On Monday, August 14, 2017, the commencement ceremony of the first "Hyo Jeong Academy: Unification Thought Leadership training course" was held through the sponsorship of Sun Moon University and the International Unification Thought Institute at the Cheon Bok Gung central church.
More than 90 regional directors and ministers from all over the nation participated.
After bowing to the portrait of True Parents, Dr. Sung-bae Jin, the president of the International Unification Thought Institute and the chairman of Hyo Jeong Academy of Arts and Sciences gave a welcoming address. He said that we have to be equipped with the ideology of the Unification Thought in order to provide resolutions for the conflicts in the societies. It is to bring victory for the goal of Vision 2020 and True Parents.
Afterward, the former president of UC group, Dr. Sun-joo Hwang addressed a remark with the theme that bringing victory will depend on foreseeing the current of the age.
Dr. Hideyo Oyamata, the president of the Unification Thought Institute in Japan and the chairman of the Cheon Ui Won in Japan, gave the congratulatory address, “only by the ideology of True Parents, all the critical problems in the world can be brought to the resolutions.”
As the last guest speaker, Dr. Young-hwi Kim, the international senior chairman of Cheon Ui Won, addressed the speech of encouragement that the roles of ministers are the utmost importance in the nation, and they are the ones who shall be opening the way to the victorious era.
In the audience, there were distinguished guests such as the chairman, Dr. Dong-moon Ju and the chairman Dr. In-tae Hwang. Once the entrance ceremony was over, the chairman Dr. Sun-joo Hwang gave a commemorative speech emphasizing that the ideology of True Parents are interrelated to the emergence of the fourth industrial revolution, that is the new tide of the creative energy to emerge.
After the guest speakers remark, Dr. Jin-chun Kim, the president of Heavenly legislation institute in Korea, gave a lecture. ‘Theory of the original Image of God through the Unification Thought’ regarding God's existence and the creationism.
At last, Dr. Hang-jae Kim, the chairman of Cheon Il Guk Academy, gave a lecture. ‘The Innovative discussion on the unity of the religion and the politics’ and ‘the political theology of Unification Thought.'
All the students have shown great enthusiasm for learning through the lectures despite the humid temperature of the day until the schedule was completed at 5 o’clock.
